My best friend and I are going through the book Life is A Verb. Before even finishing the prologue I was challenged in how I don’t lead an intentional life.
I shared with her that if I knew my time here was limited (which it actually is) would I bemoan the sunrise because I’m exhausted. Yet, every morning with the rising of the sun I do just that, unknowing if I only have a week’s worth of sunrises left to enjoy.
But intentionality isn’t just about appreciating the sunrise. It’s about living life to its fullest.
And I believe this is often times where we fall short.
We take the easy(er) road, we don’t say yes enough to silly things, we don’t move because we’ve never been given permission. The list goes on and on.
Last night I was doing an action item in the book. I had to dance like a child would dance for three minutes. I can’t tell you how incredibly foolish I felt and scared that Shawn would come down the stairs, see me, and look at me like I was crazy. And I was in my own living room.
So yes, I’m learning.
I want to challenge you today. Live! Dance in your living room, car, drive way. Eat a bowl of ice cream topped with chocolate sauce & whip cream. Call someone just to say hi.
