I’ve noticed over the last couple of weeks my attention has been drawn to leaves. There are often a lot lying in our parking lot at work, that have blown off the surrounding trees. Trident shapes littering the ground. Intermingling with the fallen Bouganvilla petals.
I don’t know why I have this fascination. Maybe seasons of change. Both literal & figurative.
Autumn is my favorite season. I think part of it is the old things dying off so that new things can come out. Without autumn we can’t have spring. We can’t receive new graces.
Then of course there are is the cooling weather, all the autumnal good eats, cozy times on the couch with a book.
We’re easing into autumn here. The temperatures taking their time in leaving the summer behind. As autumn breaks on Saturday we’ll joke that no one told Arizona.
I have much to be thankful for this Monday morning…
0210 Three hour naps
0211 Airbags
0212 Date nights & held hands
0213 Fallen flora
0214 Bike rides
0215 Feeling the wind in my hair
0216 My best friend’s first novel releasing (check back tomorrow for a give away)
0217 Metal leaf trinkets
0218 Steak dinners
0219 Finishing my to do list
My challenge to you: be thankful today. Not because you should be, but because there’s at least one thing in your life today – big or small, silly or serious, extravagant or simple – in which you can give thanks for.
❤
