This story starts about six years ago; with a prologue written with ink of discontentment.
It was about six years ago that God started changing my perspective on Him, on how I do life, on how Shawn and I spend money, etc.
He’s been teaching Shawn and I how to live our lives as sent people. Not lives for our own benefit but lives dedicated to loving and serving those far from God, those who are vulnerable, and the orphan.
It has brought me here. Changed.
January 20th-28th I will travel to Moldova with a team of women & Children’s HopeChest (CHC), a Christian organization that connects communities in the US & Canada with orphans and at risk children in impoverished communities in Russia, Swaziland, South Africa, Ethiopia, Uganda, Haiti, Guatemala, Moldova, and India. The connections and relationships that are formed empower the children to survive, thrive, and succeed within their own culture .Our work in Moldova will primarily be with girls who have been exploited through human trafficking. The girls, while living in a home provided by Beginning of Life Moldova (a partner of CHC on the ground in Moldova), receive an education, rehabilitation, counseling, & learn skills that allow them to generate income for themselves – which helps provide safety and security, as well as a future. As a team, we will share skills each of us have as well as serve and love on them.
And when I say girls I mean young, school-age girls. The girls we will be visiting in the home range in ages from 8 to 17. Moldova is a key country when it comes to human trafficking. A former republic of the Soviet Union, Moldova is a transit and destination country for sex trafficking. Every year there are over 100,000 victims of human trafficking in Moldova, with a population of only 3.5 million. This means that 1 in 35 people are victims of trafficking.

Prayer:
- For our team, as we each prepare for the trip. For our health – physical, emotional, & spiritual. We are going as missionaries to a very dark country. Human trafficking is something the enemy 100% a part of, and we’re interrupting his flow. Full financial support for each woman going.
- Our time there. Safety, wisdom, and again health. Pray that God would give us words of encouragement for the girls and the BOL team that works with them on a daily basis.
- Once we’re home. There will be a lot to process. When I agreed to join the team Shawn and I talked that I’m going to come back different. And the truth is we all will. While we’ll be focusing on the future instead of the past with the girls, we know we will see things that will wreck us. Pray for those days and weeks and months after our return.
Financial:
I need to raise a total of $3300. We believe God will raise up the right people to support me financially on this trip. There are airfares, on the ground costs (lodging & transportation), shots. If that’s you, you can partner with me by donating here.
I understand not everyone will be able to support me financially. But everyone can support me by sharing about my trip with their followers, friends & family. One of the best methods in ending trafficking is awareness via word of mouth. There are huge parts of the population that don’t even know this evil exists. Will you help by sharing about my trip, and the updates & blog posts I write before, during, and after the trip with the people around you? It would mean so very much to me and our team. While there, I will be sharing stories of hope & grace and what CHC is doing.
