Hello from Chișinău, Moldova.
We arrived a couple of hours ago after what seemed like two days of traveling. Perhaps that is because I have been traveling for two days if you count my flight on Saturday from Phoenix into Charlotte.
My heart and soul were sobered as we landed in Chișinău (pronunciation). The landscape is green and frozen, and as you get closer you see the ruins of a city trying to hold on. You remember that this little country is a former part of the Soviet Union, and the devastating effects of that philosophy. I’ll share more on this in the coming days. We’ve been in Moldova for a couple of hours and my heart is already trying to process what I’ve seen.
Our flights all went well with the exception of little sleep on the flight into Munich from the US, and then ground because of snow in Munich. We were given an estimate of an hour and a half wait, but about 45 minutes later we found ourselves lifting off.
We are currently at the hotel resting and tonight will be dinner and orientation. We all thank you for your prayers. We have a few team members battling colds. I’m fighting hip/low back pain & restless legs. Pray that we all get a good, solid night of sleep, we definitely need it,
Thanks to everyone.
